With the exception of the green buds. It looks very much like some form of pura vida. At one point I had the purple one so I can not say for sure, but If you google p. pura vida there are many photos that look the colour. Im lost as to where you got this plant? If all of its flowers open poorly like the picture I doubt anyone would think it a worthy plant to registure. There is always a chance im wrong( I try not to sound sure till another has commented in agreeance) but from the leaves in the background, P. pura vida has two pairs of petiole glands slightly spaced, and leaf structure much like your photos. This, along with the google photos looking much like yours points me in this direction. Again why it doesnt open I have no clue. Like I have said, there is always someone that knows more. I hope this might help in some form or another.

That is the wonderful P. 'Crimson Tears' by Roland Fischer, to commemorate the 9/11 tragedy. Fantastic flower!

Hello tropique,
the flower in your original photo may not open because it is likely a hybrid. Did you grow it from seed? If so, it may simply be a hybrid of one of the above mentioned hybrids (Pura Vida, Crimson Tears, etc) with something else. Many hybrids make flowers that wont open. That's why it's not so easy to come up with great hybrids like Crimson Tears and Pura Vida. You have to toss dozens or even hundreds before you come up with something great!
