New Here on the forum

Post by RetiredFlorida on Tue Jan 01, 2013 12:09 am

Hi All,

New gardener/old gardener from Florida. Used to grow a few select (don juan) roses years ago, did quite well. Moved and did not take my plants with me. That was many years ago. This past spring, as a form of stress relief I returned to gardening. I so enjoy my MIL's butterfly/hummingbird garden in North Florida that I decided to start one myself. You can't garden for butterflies without learning about Passion Flowers and thus here I am. I have bought two large passy's, p.vitifolia and p.bettymylesyoung and have a few more seedlings/cuttings in the 6" to 1' range:Lavender Lady growing like crazy, passiflora loefgrenii x caerulea and passiflora sanguinolenta and maybe one or two I can't remember at the moment.

Was stricken with the beauty of p.incense the first time I saw one in the wild in North Florida and have been fascinated with their blooms ever since. I also am a big fan of hibiscus.
