P. edmundoi was wonderful to see in Christian's garden.

However, I found it odd that this flower was so much larger and lighter pink than the P. edmundoi at Butterfly World. Ron's was a more vibrant color, but much smaller. It does not look like it in the picture below, but it is almost red. The filaments are also held differently. Could these be varieties of the same species, or simply growing conditions?

I am not sure which I like better... I think I just want them both!

It is probably a variation inside the species. The outside series of corona processes at BW matches better the original description, filamentose. The plant at Christian H's has the outside series more similar to the inside one, both membranose, but the outside is cleft into triangular processes, somewhat intermediary between filaments and a continuous membrane.

It would be interesting to know where BW's (Ron Boender) plant comes from.
