Hey Tropique,

I tried to give time for other to answer, but ill add my thoughts now. I believe it is a cross of the two for many reasons. Seeing as P. caerulea is not self-fertil. It would have had to have been pollinated by ether one of your edulis. Though you should have seen a fruit first. For it to be a hybrid of both the fruit would have had to fall off, and germinate in the ground near your caerulea. The only other thing it could be is a ground shoot from cearulea but the flower proves that wrong so that one is out. From this point on please feel free to call it your p. caerulea x edulis. Once your plant fruits you should be able to tell if your edulis parent was edulis edulis or edulis flavicarpa.

I should have also been clear on your pictures aswell.
In my opinion, The widened floral tube, and single row of petiolar glands point to a edulis cross. I can keep pointing things out but from this im sure its a edulis cross. Great job! There are only a hand full of cross between the two of some of which I have listed befor. Sense its at the point of flower already, If you feel it might be a better plant then the others, in flower, growth, or fruit, do feel free to study it and try registering it if you want. Or just keep it to yourself, and envy one of natures crosses. Again, very cool cross for not even trying to cross it. And many thanks for taking so many pictures. As Im still only learning things myself, any other information from other growers is always helpful.
