Re: some of my passiflora
Nice photos Nick. What kind of growing conditions do you have your red guys in? Have you had any fruit on maliformis yet?

Re: some of my passiflora
Hey shawn,
P. lady margaret and p. sherry are in my house just to liven things up. and I keep the temps at 72. I have massive window all around my house and depending on each plants light needs are placed accordingly. I have had plenty of Fruit on my previous p.Maliformis but it just didnt come back over the winter. This one was bought last fall and only flowered 13 times befor the plant noticed the bigger pot I had givin it and switched to its veg state. It, along with the p. standleyi hybrid were the only in bloom, and I didnt even bother trying to self It so no fruit from this one yet.

Re: some of my passiflora
Hi Nick,
Thanks for the reply. I also have my Lady Margaret and Sherry inside, in a window, in the low 70s (F). They seem happy like that. Sorry about losing the previous maliformis. Did you taste its fruit? if so, how was it??? Get any hybrid plants from it?

Re: some of my passiflora
hey shawn,
YES I tasted its fruits haha. They dont really taste like much. Like the discriptions around the net they kinda taste like grapes but still have a passion fruit taste thats hard to describe. The smell makes up for it though. very pleasing. Sadly, Its not my favorite passion fruit. Id much rather eat any passiflora edulis. Dont get me wrong though they are better then many passiflora by far, They are just not the best, In my oppinion. Im pretty sure passiflora maliformis is self fertile. If something else pollinated them it wasnt from my garden as I dont have its relatives. Ether way, I dont have seeds as I wasnt conserned about growing what I believed to be more maliformis seeds so I let my juicer have at them and made a nice bit of juice which I cooked down to make jelly.

Hello nickisking420,
You have a very beautiful collection, with colors demonstrations.
This must be the moment fireworks at home. We would like to possess many passiflora but the place and the right conditions are difficult to obtain without a large greenhouse and a suitable climate.

Re: some of my passiflora
hello eaglefour!
Your right as to needing the right conditions! I live in a zone at which only passiflora caerulea will really survive my winter outside. Tho with my root tube methods Im able to also keep my vitifolia, edulis possum purple, and clear skys in the ground all winter. They will gladly come back with no worry now. the fireworks are just starting so to say. most of my passiflora flower for me during fall and winter in my green house. all spring and summer they get fertz, sun and love but the second the season changes and it gets darker earlyer I hook up my leds and hps lights and create better conditions then spring and they explode into flowers! So keep checking up. As of now these photos are only about 10 percent of the different flowers I will have FLOWERING this year! Thanks for posting! How are your passiflora doing this year?
