Passiflora cirrhiflora is a legend!

Passiflora pedata seems to have compound leaves too. Am I right?

Yes,
P. cirrhifolia and P. Deidamioides in subgenus Deidamioides.

And in subgenus Passiflora: P. pedata that I has seen once in Guyana, maybe a few more, and also a couple of species in supersection Tacsonia.

None in subgenus Astrophea or subgenus Tetrapathea.

And I cannot think of one in subgenus Decaloba, although some are deeply lobed.

so... every lobe may fall off independently... It is quite unusual

I do not know about the abscission zone. Only that the blade is not continuous (sorry to be a bit technical here) and that there is bare petiolules at the base of each folioles. As far as I can remember, only the P. cirrhiflora and P. pedata are also pedate, that is (go back to the picture) each petiolule attached to the previous one.

it may well be that English and Russian version of the term 'compound leave' is somewhat different in the meaning.
For instance in Russian version the leaf Helleborus is simple but the leaf of Aesculus hippocastanum is compound because there is the abscission zone between laminas and petiole.

Hi everyone, let me guess. This one might be one of the rarest passionflower in the world? Or am I such a bad searcher? I can't find anything about it !

To answer your question, No this is not one of the rarest in the world. It is somewhat common in French Guiana found along road sides and on the outsides of the woods. kinda like our incarnata I would imangine. Though probally not THAT common. Its slighty rare in the fact that it flowers from the tendrils and has compound leaves but in general there are tons that I would consider a little more rare. In this case its not that it can't be found or anything like that. This plant has yet to truly be brought anywhere outside of its homeland. Its not to easy to get seeds of it to the common grower unless you know someone. I have been trying forever. Its only hard to find outside of its homeland other then a lucky few. Not truly rare. I know of a few people that have gotten seeds. Now its just a matter of waiting a few more years for them to make clones of these grown seeds and them to get around to the public or atleast the lucky growers. I hope this helps a little. Im sure there is someone else that could change or add to what i have said.

Haha its homeland is French Guiana. And if you knew someone there that you could have search for it for you then you might not have to wait ten years. Im saving for a trip next year and this could be where I go. Though getting there when and if the plant is fruiting is one thing. Another is making sure there is more then like five fruit on it as being a collector you should never take the plants last fruits as this may be unfair to the plants life if it need new sprouts. I have been waiting 3 years for some of these seeds and still am not close. Im sure you can without permition get in big trouble sneeking these seeds back with out permition so thats another think. To round things up... I would suggest just saving these pictures as your wall paper for your computer as this is the best you can get to having this plant in your house. But know that these seeds are highly sought after and even if they show up here in the next few years( which i dont think will be the case) be prepaired to pay a very shiny penny for them as eveyone that knows about this plant will surly want it.
